Daytona 500
Word has it that there’s a certain 500 mile race taking place in Daytona, Florida today.
That is, if the fine people at NASCAR will ever get going and finish this horrible pre-race show.
Was it just me, or was that cartoon of the Digger camera mascot just plain bad?
What were they thinking? Is this actually going to be a real cartoon program that they’re going to air for each of the races that Fox covers this season? I certainly hope not.
That was one of the worst things to be associated with NASCAR along with their whole “chase for the cup” scam that penalizes the drivers who were successful for the majority of the racing season.
I love racing and am huge fans of the NASCAR and Indycar racing series, but it makes me cringe the way that NASCAR has been going downhill with these unbearable pre-race shows that cannot be skipped, all of the yellow flags that occur for the slightest thing that happens during a race, and of course, all of the commercials that they shove into the races.
Unlike during football games, it’s very easy to sit back and do work on the laptop during NASCAR races. I don’t know how the fans could sit in the stands and put up with all of that garbage.
