Go Red Wings!
That was quite a seven game series against the Anaheim Ducks.
Game seven itself was an amazing show and I’m sure it must have been incredible to have been in Joe Louis Arena for that game.
Highlights from game 7:
It was an intense experience just watching the game on TV, especially when Anaheim came back and tied the game in the third period and it looked like they were heading for overtime. But with three minutes left in the game, the Red Wings scored a goal and the rest is history.
To me, this win was even sweeter after the events and massive fight that broke out at the end of game six in Anaheim. In my opinion, it was a big mistake when Niedermayer did that cheap shot elbow right to Datsyuk’s face after the game was finished. That move and the other fights only got Detroit more motivated to win in game seven and eliminate them from the playoffs. And that’s with the Anaheim team going against a very hostile Detroit home crowd, who I’m sure was also not pleased at all about the Ducks aggressiveness at the end of game six.
The fights after game 6:
That only made this so much sweeter:
As a Detroit fan and former Detroit, MI resident living here in Atlanta, Georgia, it sure is nice to be able to wear a Detroit sports jersey in public without people giving out sarcastic responses about how bad the teams usually suck. I’ll be wearing my Red Wings jersey proudly again next week during the conference championship series against Chicago.
GO RED WINGS!!!
